MEET THE OFFICERS
OF THE
CENTRAL ARIZONA TALL SOCIETY

PRESIDENT:

Karen Pankonen

president@tallphoenix.org
We have a great board of officers this year and with their help, even though this is my first year as President, I know this is going to be a great and fun year.  I look forward to making new friends, enjoying my current friends, and just having fun.  Isn’t that what it’s all about?

VICE PRESIDENT:

Tim Meko

I have been a member of CATS for 23 years. In that time, I have met many wonderful people throughout the Tall Club organization. I am originally from the Great Lake State of Michigan. I enjoy many outdoor activities as well as traveling to other Tall Clubs' weekends. I am currently teaching high school Mathematics at Casa Grande High School. As the vice-president of CATS, I would like to encourage everyone to come out to events with anticipation of having fun. If there is an activity that you would like to promote, feel free to contact me with your suggestions and I will try and get support from other officers to schedule your request.

RECORDING

SECRETARY:

Marlene Klatt

I have been a member of CATS since November 1979.  In September 1980 I became the Treasurer, and by March 1981 was selected as CATS President. Since that time I have held the office of President, Vice-President, Social Chairperson, Editor, Publicity and Corresponding Secretary.  I have also been the TCI Delegate, Chairman of TCI Convention 1984, member of PPP Weekend committees, Club Historian, written many articles for CATS PAUSE, hosted many house parties, and many out of town guests.

Involvement in CATS and TCI, has brought about many friendships over the years, and from many walks of life.  You too can develop friendships with many TALL people when you not only become involved in CATS, but  also travel to Tall Club weekends and TCI Conventions.

CORRESPONDING

SECRETARY:

Peggy Cooke

I have been a member since 1980.  I have held many CATS' Board positions during these years but Corresponding Secretary has always been my favorite.  I live closest to the club post office box and have made many, many friends across the country  by attending Conventions and other club's weekends.  I love to read all the clubs newsletters.  Please contact me, especially if you have to travel to another city that also has a club, and I will share their events calendar so maybe you can meet some new friends too.

EDITOR:

Beth Gouwens

editor@tallphoenix.org

I have been a member of CATS for about 10 years–with a short hiatus while I lived in Colorado Springs for a couple of years. That's almost longer than I've lived in Arizona! I was editor of the CATS Pause from  94 - 97. I had so much fun I thought I'd try it again. The members of CATS have become my second family. There's always something going on, and always someone available to give you a hand.

I enjoy the house parties, and I like going to the happy hours when I have time.  If you notice any mistakes on our website, please email me so I can get it corrected.  Thanks!
